Why log in?
SAMLA works well without a login, but logged-in users get access to some extra features. First, you can create reading lists of documents or individual objects that can be saved for later use. If you wish, these lists can also be made available to other users. In addition, you can save your own search results for later use.
Those who have applied for access to access-restricted material must log in to get this access. This is most relevant for researchers.
Who can log in?
Anyone affiliated with the University of Bergen (UiB) or the University of Oslo (UiO) can use the Feide login solution. If you have a Feide account at other institutions, please contact us so that we can set it up if needed.
Anyone with a Norwegian Bank-ID can create a user and log in via ID-porten.
Users without a Feide account or a Norwegian BankID must contact SAMLA to create a guest account at UiB.
How to log in?
Click on Log in at the top right. You will be prompted to choose a login method. The first time you log in, you must select either Feide or ID-porten. Choose Feide if you can, which means you have an account at the University of Bergen or the University of Oslo. Once you have logged in once, the browser will remember your login method for a period, making it faster to log in again.
When you are logged in, your username will appear in the same field where "Log in" was displayed. Clicking on your username will show you options: view and edit profile, saved searches, etc.
After you have performed a search in SAMLA, you can choose to save it by clicking on the diskette icon, which you will find directly above the search results. To retrieve your saved search lists, click on your username after logging in and then select saved searches from the dropdown menu. This will take you to the list of saved searches, and you can choose to view them again or delete them if you wish.
