Games

Torleiv Hannaas worked as a teacher at  Stord teaching college between 1905 and 1914.  Some of the assigments he gave his students involved collecting folklore from their own local communities. In 1912 he gave the students the task to write down old games from their parish. This led to a great collection of children games and games played at social gatherings, especially from the South Western part of Norway. This collection is now a part of Ethno-Folkloristic Archive with the archive signature "EFA Hannaas 59". Among the material are variants of games still in use, but also games that are no longer commonly known.  The games (in Norwegian) can be seen below.
